the lost zine of 2020
The idea for the zine came from the first of our participatory projects launched during the first wave of lockdowns - our popular 10 Day Challenge. Each day, for ten days, a new challenge was released and artists could respond to as many of the challenges as they liked within a six-week period. The challenges all linked to our theme and challenged artists to respond to simple titles using specific media or techniques.
The zine contains an interesting cross-section of artworks created during this challenge. Artforms include poetry and prose, drawing and painting, digital art, photography and book/zine making. Pieces have been edited together in a way that highlights similarities and differences through the juxtaposition and harmonisation of narratives.
We hope that you enjoy this zine and we look forward to meeting you in 2021 when Lacuna Festivals will return with more contemporary, international art events. Stay safe and keep creating!
